About the Selection Process
Upon acceptance by the NSDTA Board of Directors and the NAPIPM Board of Directors, the 2010 conference committee will notify you and review your information in preparation for publication in the 2010 conference registration book.
Workshop descriptions and biographies may be used
in official conference materials, registration book and conference
program books. All material is subject to normal editing for corrections
and consistency; this will be completed without notification to
the presenter.
Presentation Selection Process and Criteria

Presents a workshop topic relevant to the
conference theme(s) |

Emphasizes adult learning principles and includes delivery methods other than lecture including but not limited to audience participation, interactive exercises and demonstrations. |
• |
Highlights areas of knowledge and skill, improvement in performance or evaluation of effectiveness. |
• |
Expresses clarity of purpose, description, design, methodology, learning objectives and expected results. |
• |
Expresses creative ideas, inventive methodology and technology and/or innovative programs with evaluations of effectiveness. |
• |
Presents design and implementation successes and challenges as learning experience at all phases of development through evaluation. |
• |
Materials serve as training resources to workshop participants. |
Other Criteria applied includes:
Representation across training categories, key, themes and program areas
Broad geographic representation
Focus on the needs of the host state/organization and the primary co-sponsoring organization.
Selection Decision and Notification
The NSDTA Board of Directors, the NAPIPM Board of Directors, and the 2010 Professional Development Conference Committee chairpersons review all submitted proposals and evaluate each according to the criteria above in an impartial process.
Through this selection process, workshops are selected
for relevancy and consistency with the goals of the conference.
Should a workshop be rejected or remain in question, the Board and
the conference committee reserve the right to call the submitting
presenter and clarify.
Each person submitting a proposal will be contacted
with the decision of the Board and the Conference Committee. Notification
will be sent before April 30, 2010.
